[comp.unix.questions] YASQ

rfinch@caldwr.UUCP (Ralph Finch) (12/16/89)

Here we go with yet another silly question, this one about the RCS
function rlog. I'm writing an emacs-lisp function to checkin all
checked-out rcs files in a directory. I naturally want to limit it to
only those files the user has checked out, not somebody else's checked
out files. But, when I do, e.g.

rlog -R -L -lrfinch RCS/*

it gives me all checked out files, as if the -lrfinch had no effect.

Am I doing something wrong? Misreading the rlog man page? I'm using
rcs version 4.3.

PS. Many thanks to those who responded to my previous question about
flushing buffers. I was thinking there might be some OS level call to
flush a buffer, or perhaps some public domain daemon which would
periodically do so, but I guess not. Sigh. (I'm a fortran-er, which
explains my abject ignorance on C matters).
