I have a public domain program called Top 2.0 by William Lefevre. It successfully compiles under Ultrix 2.0 on a VAX, and on a Sun 3/280 under SunOS 3.5. However, I have not been able to compile it successfully on a Sun 3/480 under SunOS 4.0.X. I have narrowed the problem down to some major differences in the proc table between the two versions. However, I have been unable to contact the author of the program to see if there is a patch to it for 4.0.X. Does anyone else use this program? Does anyone know the current whereabouts of the author, as I have received no response from mail sent to the account listed in the documentation (phil@rice.edu)? Has anyone implemented this on SunOS 4.0.X? I ask only to see if someone has a patch to it before I go and hack it up to make it work. Thanks in advance. Eric . |~~ Eric J. You should go ahead and retrieve that one. As for William LeFebvre, he has is at NorthWestern U. (last I heard) and can be reached at the E-mail address of: phil@pex.eecs.nwu.edu. -- =-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-= Mitch Wright Currently under contract to: P.O. Helpful hint for Sun-4 users: Like many kmem readers, top has the system page size compiled in. You need separate binaries for Sun-4/60s (4K page size) and other Sun-4s (8K page size). -- David DiGiacomo, Sun Microsystems, Mt. View, CA sun!david david@eng.sun.com
