I have a couple of (probably dumb) questions about rn. How does one customize the NEWSHEADER environment variable? I tried to follow the example in the rn man pages and tried a couple of different approaches, but my changes were either ignored or produced garbage. Also, a couple of times I've screwed up when posting an article by hitting 'send' instead of 'edit', and then when I hit C, it said "You can't cancel someone else's article." Why won't it let me cancel my own article? Thanks in advance for any light you can shed. I have a quick question for you. How in the world do I modify the column parameter in rn? I am currently set to 24 columns for some reason. This 24 column problem only occurs in rn, so I assume there is some setting that I can use. Any suggestions?

We are going to run a bbs type system for computer illiterates on a 3b2 400. Most users will be dialing in with an ibm pc. The best suggestion I heard so far is to use the rn software and just not send out the group. My question is if there is anything friendlier on the market (it's ok if it costs money) or is there some front end software that makes rn easier. On todays standards rn is not considered user friendly. One of the problems is uploading files created in dos wp software into rn without going thru 5 different steps. Any help will be appreciated. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- _-_ Rabbi Yaacov Haber /~~ ~~\ internet: haber@cs.buffalo.edu Torah Center of Buffalo /~ ~\ bitnet: haber%cs.buffalo.edu@ubvm 2780 Main Street \ __ __ / uucp: ..!{boulder,decvax,rutgers} phone: (716) 833-7881 | | !acsu.buffalo.edu!torah!haber fax: (716) 833-7903-1111 // \\ "A tree of life for those who embrace it"
