[net.cooks] copper, ketchup, Comet, lemons and salt

As long as all this experimentation is going on, what about
the old trick of dumping salt on half of a lemon and rubbing the lemon
over the copper. Even cheaper than ketchup, for those of us with copper
cleaner trees outside our back doors. (And if that doesn't work, try
mixing the lemon, salt, ketchup, and Comet together. No, no, forget I
said that.)

Vinegar by itself will not do anything. However, I've used a paste of
common table salt and vinegar for years to clean the bottom of some Revere
ware pots.
