[comp.unix.questions] in search of a news moderator

john@osf.org (02/14/90)

Hello,

I've tried posting an article in comp.laser-printers
twice now, and it's apparently not passing the "moderator"
(I'm guessing this, since Pnews is giving me a message
that my posting has been mailed to a moderator, and
I'm not seeing my message there, or any others,
for that matter...).

Anyhow, I'd like to find out why my posting isn't
making it through the "gate". Do you know how to
discover the "moderator's" email address? I'd like
to contact him/her directly to see what's up, what's
not, and why. Thanks for the help,

john@osf.org

Sounds like the "backbone" line in your /usr/lib/news/mailpaths file
(assuming your running Bnews) is not properly set. Have your news
administator check and correct this. (Backbone needs to point to one
of the Usenet backbone sites. These sites (using mailing aliases) handle
the forwarding of postings to the correct moderator.)
