I am working on a specification for a driver and utility programs to handle a WORM disk on Unix systems. I am considering three possible operating modes: 1 - Mounted read-only filesystem. 2 - Mounted read-write filesystem, with some writing restrictions. 3 - Tape simulator supporting the normal tape IOCTLs. Before I go off reinventing the wheel, how about hearing some responses from others who have done this already. Also, are there any standards groups working on WORM usage in Unix? I am directing followups to myself, and I will post a summary of responses if there are interesting ones. Thanks in advance. -- == Mark Warren Bull HN Information Systems Inc. == == (508) 671-3171 (FAX 671-3020) 300 Concord Road MS820A == == mwarren@granite.cr.bull.com Billerica, MA 01821 ==
