[net.cooks] One-handed pepper grinders FOUND

I was going to suggest that people check with the Occupational Therapy
department of a local hospital, since they usually have catalogs of adaptive
equipment for the disabled, and then the following arrived in the mail.
From the description, the device described is not designed for the handicapped
(It can't be filled by someone with only one functional hand), but should
prove convenient for the two-handed cook. You still might check with your
local occupational therapist for availability of others. (I normally wouldn't
post an advertisement like the following, but it seemed to be of wide interest.)

From Volume 1, Number 1 of "Great Taste: The Food Discovery Newsletter",
reprinted without permission:

We all know that freshly ground pepper is far superior to canned --
in aroma, teture, and taste. But how many times do we reach for the
tin instead of the mill because it seems less trouble? Now a Swiss
company has come up with Pepper Power, a battery-operated mill that
lets you add pepper, one-handed, as easily as salt -- with the simple
    press of a button.
This sleekly designed 7.5-inch-tall cylinder holds a full three
ounces of peppercorns -- black, white, green, or a combination. To
load it, you pull it apart at the middle (pull hard!). Once open,
however, Pepper Power is so easy to fill it can be used
interchangeably for grinding whole spices such as coriander, mustard,
cumin, and even cloves to the medium coarseness best for most dishes.
Unlike so many mechanized marvels, Pepper Power doesn't
necessarily have to have its four AA batteries to be useful. The top
and bottom of the cylinder can simply be twisted like an old-fashioned
    manual mill.
To Order: Pepper Power is available for $32.50 including shipping
    from Chef Specialties Company, 411 Water Street, Smethport, PA 16749;
(814)887-5652. Batteries are not included. Check or money order
    accepted.
