This is not the standard technical question, but still seems like an appropriate place to post... I am involved in a start-up Unix User group in the St. Louis area. I am interested in getting feedback from anyone involved in successful organizations. How are your meetings organized? How do you handle the fact that people attending may have very diverse skill levels? - how to you keep everyone satisfied? or can you? What topics have you found to be meaningful/successful? What do you do when you want to get into a topic which cannot be adequately handled in a single meeting? (It takes a considerable length of time to do it justice.) Does anyone have any experience with a group which has sponsored major 'seminars', e.g. a weekend function with guest speakers, etc., covering a major topic such as networking? Please E-mail responses to these questions, and feel free to add additional thoughts. I would also like to establish on-going e-mail links with individuals involved in the administration of user groups in other cities. -- |---------------------------------------------------------------------| | Terry Linhardt The Lafayette Group uunet!jgaltstl!terry | |---------------------------------------------------------------------|
