I'm interested in replacing my current stove with a more modern cooktop; one with a grill/griddle, and four elements. I already have overhead hood ventilation, so Jenn-Air down draft ventilation is not a needed feature. Unless of course there is some significant advantage of down draft ventilation that would warrent the change. Any opinions on cooktop brands or style of ventilation? My old cooktop is a Thermador, and sizewise, Thermador makes a unit that will exactly fit my current counter cut-out. Nice, but is Thermador as good as any other brand (or vice-versa)? Thanks, kevin@ucbvax.berkeley.edu
