[comp.unix.questions] Request for awk or sed scripts for book

dale@ora.com (Dale Dougherty) (05/31/90)

I am writing a Nutshell Handbook on the UNIX utilities
sed and awk (nawk & gawk).
I'm going to include a chapter that contains
a miscellany of scripts, including ones we
use in text processing at O'Reilly & Associates.

Over the years I've come across a
number of interesting scripts on the net.
Some of the scripts I've manage to save and I am contacting
authors for permission to include their scripts.
If anyone on the net has written a script and would like to
contribute it, please e-mail it to me. Please explain
what problem you were trying to solve with it
and how it is used. If I use the script
in the book, you'll see your name in print
and I'll send you a copy of the book.

Send the script to "uunet!ora!dale" or "dale@ora.com".
Include your street mailing address so that I
will be able to get the book to you when it comes
out in the early fall.

Thanks.
