The song is the theme to GILLIGAN'S ISLAND sung as if to the music of STAIRWAY TO HEAVEN. Led Zeppelin, appalled that such a thing would harm their reputation (whatever that means), sued the group responsible, Little Roger and the Goose Bumps. All copies of the song not already sold were allegedly bought back and destroyed. A few years ago, Little Roger and the Goose Bumps wanted to record a spoof of Neil Young's CINNAMIN GIRL, called KENNEDY GIRLS. Still smarting from their previous legal experience, Little Roger & Co. contacted Young to seek permission. Young, familiar with the earlier Little Roger and the Goosebumps classic, agreed provided the group provide him with a copy of STAIRWAY TO GILLIGAN. --Alex (Hopelessly lost among the archives of the Committee for the Revival of Psychedelic Music)
