I have heard all of the remakes of Der Kommisar and I think Falco's(sp?) version is the best. I happened to hear an interview on KROQ (Pasadena) in which Falco gave his impressions of each one of the remakes. It was interesting to hear what he thought...he thinks that the song loses alot when it is translated into English. Actually I thought he sounded like a pretty interesting person...he seemed fairly intelligent. Leslie

A German friend of mine says that you will never understand the full humor
of the song unless you have seen the TV show. He says many of the lines are
stock phrases out of the program and that the vocals are intentionally made to
sound like the actor(s).
