Hello everyone, I have a little elm problem, and was wondering if anyone could help. I am trying to make use of the filtering program, filter, that comes with elm. Anyway, I have it set up, according to instructions, on a System V 386 unix, and cannot seem to get it to work. The actual deciding what to do with the mail works fine, but the filter program cannot seem to get the mail that should stay in the mailbox back into the mailbox. Here is a sample error that results when I try to do it. This is what I find in my mailbox: From MAILER-DAEMON Mon Jul 9 23:28:01 1990 Received: by vpnet.chi.il.us (/\=-/\ Smail3.1.14.4 #14.18) id <m0hpCCW-00004aC@vpnet.chi.il.us>; Mon, 9 Jul 90 23:28 CDT Message-Id: <m0hpCCW-00004aC@vpnet.chi.il.us> Date: Mon, 9 Jul 90 23:28 CDT From: <MAILER-DAEMON@vpnet.chi.il.us> To: real-ron Reference: <m0hpCBp-00002QC@vpnet.chi.il.us> |------------------------- Failed addresses follow: ---------------------| /usr/mail ... failed: transport file: failed to open output file: Permission denied |------------------------- Message text follows: ------------------------| Received: by vpnet.chi.il.us (/\=-/\ Smail3.1.14.4 #14.18) id <m0hpCBp-00002QC@vpnet.chi.il.us>; Mon, 9 Jul 90 23:27 CDT Message-Id: <m0hpCBp-00002QC@vpnet.chi.il.us> Date: Mon, 9 Jul 90 23:27 CDT From: ron (Ron Winograd) To: ron Testing...!!! Sometimes, it also creates a file called EMERGENCY_MBOX and puts the actual message in there. If anyone has any clue as to what I am doing wrong, please let me know, either by a response here, or email, whichever is more convienient.
