I recognize that this is a broad, sweeping question. I have consulted TFM(s) and enough people that were also in the dark to make me think this may be of benefit to others. Scenario: - In-place and happily-running Novell 286 Network on Ethernet. - Need for an application that wants to run on a separate 386-based SCO XENIX (or UNIX) server. - Need to be able to transfer files between the systems and - (less importantly) remote login to/from other system. The last point is not critical. Login from Novell to XENIX can be easily accomplished through standard terminal emulation and serial ports. From XENIX to Novell was not even requested, but I thought it would be neat if possible. We need to supply the XENIX end of the system. The person maintaining the Novell system mentioned connecting via TCP/IP. The folks at SCO seem to think that their SCO TCP/IP would work but could not describe the details of what is required on the Novell side. Summary: - Does anyone have this scenario running ? - I have heard snipes at SCO TCP/IP. Should I use a different product ? - What products need to be installed on the Novell side to make this work ? Responses can be made via email or to the net, as you deem appropriate. I will summarize any email after a bit. -- < Alan H.
