I am looking for a tape management system ! Our site has UNIX on many platforms, they serve as frontends to a CRAY 416. We have acquired these UNIX systems to replace older CDC systems (NOS and NOS/VE). On the NOS and NOS/VE mainframes, we had a system that permitted us to keep track of the users tapes. It was a primitive. home-brew solution that has become inadequate over the years. We are looking for a "tape management system" which offers with the basic management tools, tape access security (permissions and passwords) and logging of media usage (last read, last write etc.). Has anyone heard of such a beast? Please E-mail me directly.
