In order to be eligible for the Berkeley sources, you must show proof of
an ATT System V Unix source license.

The ATT license is about $30,000; once you have that, you pay about $500
for the tape from Berkeley.

Certain portions (such as the networking code) are available without a
license, but most of the system is just a modified ATT Unix.

It is rumored that one of the enhancements of 4.4BSD is freedom from the
ATT license restrictions.

Of course, a good deal of the BSD sources (by no means complete) are
available via anonymous FTP from gatekeeper.dec.com and uunet.uu.net.
Sorry, I don't know of any European sources although inria.inria.fr
might be a good place to look.

If you like I will mail you a recursive directory of the BSD sources
at gatekeeper - you can decide for yourself what you want to get.

Good luck!
