I am working with a group of people who would like to build a windowed user interface to a complicated simulation and modelling program. The interface would replace some or all of a large (100+ line) input file that defines various parameters related to the current run. I'd like to look into the possibility of procuring/using products that could provide some form of windowed interface building capability. That is, rather than asking programmers to write code that uses Xlib, Xtoolkit or other calls directly, I'd be interested in programs/products that allow programmers to easily build a (windowed) user interface. The output from such an exercise might be C code, or some other linkable module. We are somewhat new at this sort of thing (being mostly window users, not window developers) and would like to hear from anyone who can provide suggestions or specific product recommendations.
