How can I convince my boss to buy UNIX workstations (maybe a small LAN) instead of DOS or OS/2?? Soon, we will start on a project to develop applications programs for the investments community in NYC. A major chunk of our code will (most likely) be in ANSI C so that our programs are portable to the maximum extent. Machine dependent or Op Sys dependent code can be added on later. Could someone give me any pointers to where I can go about looking for info on future Op Sys, why UNIX is better, etc... The point here is which system should we buy for the development process, regardless of where the final product is going to go. I'd appreciate any replies in the group or sent to me directly.
