Has anyone done any work trying to get KSH's FLOAT option to work better? We have the new version of ksh 88e, and with one small fix supplied by Mr Korn, things look better than ksh 88d. The one small problem appears when ksh is compiled with FLOAT turned on. There appears to be some sort of intialization problem that occurs when using notation such as: integer x=1 Some times it seems that the variable so initialized gets NO value until a later point in the program. Other testing, done with FLOAT turned off, did not display the same behavior. I would be very much interested in hearing from others who are fixing bugs in ksh - especially 88e. Thanks. -- Larry W.
