Has anyone out there in Netland ever had to enter a
large amount of typed material, or wanted to put something
that was printed on-line? If you have you know what a prob-
lem it can be.
A friend of mine is planning to set up a service bureau
to do data entry for these types of applications. He is
planning to purchase a Kurzweil KEM Ii data entry machine.
This device will read any typed, typeset or printed
material. The size of letters is restricted in range from
6 to 24 point. The machine can also be trained to read
foreign alphabets including Greek. The accuracy of data
entry of one error in 15000-20000 characters. For the Skep-
tics among you I have run documents through a Kurzweil
machine and they do come out very accurately.
The rate per page is expected to range from $1 to $1.75
per page. The difference will depend on amount of material
and its quality.
