Isn't the HX-12 an EGA monitor? Maybe that's an HX-12E? I have
a Princeton HX-12E, and it is an EGA monitor.

When using this with ATI EGA Wonder, I had to turn switch 8 off
on the display card or I had the same problems. Switch 8 controls
some extended functions of the card.

I used a cga monitor at one time with a Tandon Dual-Mode Video card
which gave me many problems. This card interferred with serial
communications and caused other grief as well.

Hope this helps.
