[comp.unix.questions] setuid problem

wolf@grasp2.univ-lyon1.fr (Christophe Wolfhugel) (01/24/91)

I have an application that must run as a setuid(0) one and I'd like that the
application's accouting informations are not charged to root, but to the
user who called this app.

Any idea on how to do?

If you're talking accton(1) accounting, SUID programs are still attributed
to the real UID of the user who executed the command, not to the effective
UID.
