[net.wanted] organization calendars

We are specifying and designing an organization calendar to include:
events, visitors, who's away on trips, holidays, meetings, etc.
This is primarily a course project in requirements analysis and user interfaces,but we really do need an appropriate institutional calendar system.

Does your organization have such a calendar system? What's your experience
with it?
