[net.wanted] Prolog Language Query

I saw some references to the "prolog" language, with implications on
its usefulness for AI and other things.  Can anyone out there give me
some pointers to documentation?  I'm mostly interested in what it is,
what it looks like, what it can do, etc.  As they say, "thanks in
advance!".
