Hello there unix people. I have a question about hooking up my computer to my school's mainframe: THE SITUATION: I've got a slick new NeXT that is connected to my school's mainframe through a direct line. Right now I'm using kermit to connect to my school's telnet server.I have to run all of my mail through my schools account WHAT I WANT: I would like to send IP packets through my data line, and perhaps simulate a very slow (19200 baud) ethernet line. I would like to have an Internet address and would like toftp without using kermit. WHAT I'VE HEARD: I've heard a lot about SLIP, and it sounds pretty cool. IS this the best program for doing this? If so, where can I ftp it? I've also heard about a program (or protocool) called UUCP. Would this be better for what I am trying to do? Finally, if you've been kind enought to answer these question, do you think you could give me a few pointers on installing it? Any help would be *greatly* aprreciated.
