I am actively and immediately seeking a deal on an Osborne I micro to use as a (very) intelligent home terminal. As such, I'm looking for an Osborne I, monitor, modem, and printer. The current deals I can find in Chicago are the Osborne I with the double density disk option, and a 12 inch monitor thrown in, for $1995.00; an Epson Mx-80 @ $550.00, or the advanced model (MX 8100?) for $750.00. Finally, the Osborne modem (300 baud only, auto-dial and auto-answer) with comm software and Personal Pencil for $265.00, or a DCA 1200 for $570.00. Can anyone in the Chicago area find a better deal? Maybe some sort of package? I can also pretty well guarantee two sales, since a friend is looking as well... Can anyone anywhere else find a better deal by mail? The only time constraint I have is that, if I order by Dec. 24th, dBase II is provided with the Osborne; after that date, it goes away. Please reply by mail if you can offer any advice; in addition, I'll be looking for 'C' compilers for this beast... Thanks in advance, and thanks to follow (see, I'm not lazy!) Dave Ihnat ihuxx!ignatz
