[comp.unix.questions] running a PC app on a Sun

>We have users who run in house developed applications on their PC's.
>Does anyone know of a method or a product that will allow users on a
>Sun workstation to access their PC's and run the apps (on the PC's
>CPU), but with the screen/keyboard I/O going to/from the Sun (akin
>to a remote login). Since DOS is not mutli user and doesn't support
>logging in, I can't think of how you would support this. I don't want
>to modify any code on the PC app, I want this to work seamlessly.

Quarterdeck Office Systems, (213) 314-4255, claims that DESQVIEW/X will
allow you to do this with "many" DOS applications if the PC is a 32-bit
(386 or 486) machine. I was told last month by someone at Quarterdeck
that DESQVIEW/X will be released this Summer.

Have you considered Sun's DOS WIndows? It's supposed to let you run
the PC code on the Sun directly.
