I am connecting a new Sparc2 to the network. I can address various machines by IP, but not by name. I thought that named was supposed to translate the names for me, but it doesn't. Dumping the name cache gives me all the addresses in the harvard.edu domain, so the daemon seems to work. So what is it I'm supposed to do to get it to interpret Internet names? The error message is "unknown host". I've obviously missed something basic, but my manuals really suck. John A. Burns (burns@thurifer.harvard.edu)
