Hello all! Regarding the INIT problem (command getty respawning too rapidly), we seem to partially fixed ours. Somehow we had lost our /dev/console file, and instead of writing to the file that was connected to the console line, it just wrote to a text file instead. we just re-created the /dev/console file with /etc/mknod. In case anyone is interested, the command line for us (running AT&T UNIX V.3.2 on a 3B2/400) was: # mknod /dev/tty c 0 0 This fixed the problem posthaste. However, we still have a problem. Nobody can log on from any terminal (Internet, dialin, or network) unless the console machine is on. This has not always been the case, so something is still wrong. Any ideas? Thanx in advance... -- ========================================================================= James Scott scott@gwhs.colorado.edu jscott@isis.cs.du.edu George Washington H.S., Denver gwhs@csn.org
