[comp.unix.questions] accessing telnet command mode w/o typing escape sequence

xxwrp@picasso.lerc.nasa.gov (Bill Palenske) (06/12/91)

Is it possible to get into telnet command mode without typing the telnet
escape character explicitly from the keyboard? E.g., could I output
the escape character from a program/shell script? If yes, how?

Furthermore, can one escape into command mode and also send along a
string to be processed? E.g., jump into command mode, do this, jump out.
If yes, how?

EMAIL will do. Thanks.
