[comp.sources.d] Gnuplot on Unix

akk2@ur-tut.UUCP (02/11/87)

Thanks to everyone who responded to my request for
help with Gnuplot on Unix. I finally have the online
help feature working on Unix. I haven't used Gnuplot
extensively yet but will get around to it in a few
days. My first impression is that it is a really
useful program. The sample plots I printed on a QMS
LaserGrafix 1200 came out looking real good. I also
tested the POSTSCRIPT driver by downloading the
postscript file to a Macintosh and printing it on an
Apple LaserWriter. It too came out looking good.
Maybe I will try writing a HP LaserJet driver.

Don't bother, I've done it.
The laserjet driver turned out not to be a trivial task since
I also had to write (general) raster-draw routines.
This needs quite a bit memory.

However I have GNUPLOT 1.1 up and running with HP-laserjet driver
for three different picture sizes.

Since the sources are currently only on tape I won't post it,
but if there's enough interest, I'll do it.
