About a month or two ago, some posted a version of uuencode and
uudecode that included a checksum at the end of each line. It was
upwardly compatible with the regular versions of the program because
they end up ignoring the chars after a certain point on the line. I
didn't see the need for such a thing at the time so I did not save it.
Now I see a use for it and would really like it. Would the poster or
someone who caught it please post it?
The reason I want it is that I use a link that has some protocol that
is transparent when typing but does not allow file transfers. Now I
could use uuencode on my PC, upload it with plain ASCII transfer and
check and unpack the file with the enhanced uudecode. The old
uudecode would not catch transmission errors.
