With regard to throughput of terminals and terminal emulators, I thought I should put in a plug for the combination of MS-Kermit V2.29B and a Compaq 386. This combination seems to handle sustained 19200 without so much as squeaking a single XOFF. This is with typical emacs editing tasks; I've never tried sending it 1000 line feeds in a row ... I suspect that might break it ... heh heh. We've had no problems running a Zenith-19 at 9600 baud; no problems with MS-Kermit and a bottom-level PC (4.77 MHz 8088) running at 9600 baud. I suspect we've just been lucky... Jack Brennen jfb@vi.ri.cmu.edu (arpa)
