..I have *that* letter too. Basically, Rick Adams _told_ me that net.sources
..was becoming comp.sources.misc and that it WOULD be moderated -- no question,
..no place for me to complain. He then _asked_ me whether I would like to be
..the moderator of the group.
..
..Tell me, where did you get the idea that *I* chose to make net.sources
.
.Nothing in the above says that I thought *you* were responsible for
.the original idea of moderating comp.sources.misc. Are you claiming
.that you were acting according to proper procedure since you just
.agreed to be the moderator and didn't actually issue the control messages?
.
If I may slip a foot in edgewise into this circular argument.

Some points and/or clarification seem to be in order:

1. Unless the moderator is also a backbone administrator (member
of the CABAL), I have seen no evidence that moderators are in any
way responsible for the current mess.

2. Blaming the moderators, is like blaming metermaids for parking
ordinances. Both are attempting to gain some order out of
suboptimal circumstances. (by mail only please--is there a
non-sexist version of meter maid, my references failed me on
this).

3. My hat remains off to Brandon Allbery in his handling of
comp.sources.misc. His handling of my posting of PKARC, PKXARC,
PKFIND, patches to same, ARC, and NANSI has been exemplary, even
when I sent bad material, and under pressure from other
constituencies. (no, I do not always "get my way", but the
decisions are understandable).

Can the discussion about how we all hate the new order please
move to and stay in news.groups?
