Larry Wall has put a lot of work into patch. It is really a great tool for just this kind of fix. I know that some sites may not have patch, but gee whiz guys, if they don't have it, they should. I believe that Larry has a set up to automatically handle request for source. At least if you are going to post ed scripts then post diffs as well. -- Darryl Wagoner UniSecure Systems, Inc.; dpw@unisec.usi.com Newport, RI; (401)-849-0857 UUCP: {gatech|mirror|cbosgd|uiucdcs|ihnp4}!rayssd!unisec!dpw

I do have patch on my MS-DOS machine (which nethack is supposed to run on), but I don't have ed. If size is such an important consideration that nethack is posted as a shar file (not compressed tar for instance), but the patches are posted as ed scripts, someone has their values slightly skewed. - Tim Iverson iverson@cory.Berkeley.EDU ucbvax!cory!iverson
