[comp.sources.d] anyone interested - network 'addressbook' program

mjr@osiris.UUCP (Marcus J. Ranum) (10/25/87)

Hi - Here at JHH we have a rather large network, with many autonomous
machines, many of which have separate administration/password files/user name
conventions.

I've put together a couple of pretty flexible programs that allow a
regular expression lookup of usernames and E-mail addresses through our local
net. There are features for 'preferred address' registration, and so on.
Documentation is currently in progress. Anyone want a copy to play with ?
I could use the feedback.

Currently it runs through sendmail, using the .forward files and
a username that 'owns' all the data files. I've got it ifdeffed so it can
run on sysv or bsd, with lots of other options.

Send me e-mail if you're at all interested.
