[comp.sources.d] Using the network to transfer software

I pointed out in a previous article, that I don't have a 9-track tape drive
on my PC/AT. I can tell that I was somewhat misunderstood; probably due to
my lack of eloquence in pointing out the problem.

I agree that using the backbones (except for cases like uunet, where the
cost is borne by the user) is not an ideal way to do things. Allow me to add
my thanks to the overworked people and machines that helped make the net as
we know it possible.

My only intent in calling attention to the problem is to say, "Hey! The
world isn't all Vaxen running BSD!" That's all. Nothing else.

Also, thanks to all the folks who sent mail offering to put things on
floppies for me; if the file survived my latest crash (see the flame in
comp.unix.xenix), I'll probably be calling you.

I hope I wasn't too confusing...
