I pointed out in a previous article, that I don't have a 9-track tape drive on my PC/AT. I can tell that I was somewhat misunderstood; probably due to my lack of eloquence in pointing out the problem. I agree that using the backbones (except for cases like uunet, where the cost is borne by the user) is not an ideal way to do things. Allow me to add my thanks to the overworked people and machines that helped make the net as we know it possible. My only intent in calling attention to the problem is to say, "Hey! The world isn't all Vaxen running BSD!" That's all. Nothing else. Also, thanks to all the folks who sent mail offering to put things on floppies for me; if the file survived my latest crash (see the flame in comp.unix.xenix), I'll probably be calling you. I hope I wasn't too confusing... -- Jay Maynard, K5ZC (@WB5BBW)...>splut!< | uucp: uunet!nuchat!splut!jay Never ascribe to malice that which can | or: academ!uhnix1!--^ adequately be explained by stupidity. | GEnie: JAYMAYNARD CI$: 71036,1603 The opinions herein are shared by none of my cats, much less anyone else.
