Is it me, or did most of the documentation files, rc files, etc. all say 3.7 or 3.8 in them? Are these the right files? -- Mark D. In the file estruct.h, the following line appears: #define ADDCR 0 /* ajout d'un CR en fin de chaque ligne (ST520) */ Note that the comment is in French. Not too helpful. (I mean it is, but I suspect that a majority of the net is English speaking, and those that are not native English speakers understand it. Besides, the rest of the file is in English.) The comment translates to: /* Add a CR at the end of each line (ST520) */ Now for a request. Please stop posting about part 4 of the documentation being truncated. It was not. Daniel Lawrence posted on the net less that a week after the documentation went out the he has not finished writing the manual. Thus, the files EMACS.MSS and EMACS.TXT __ARE NOT__ in the distibution. They will be posted when Daniel has finished them. I checked my shar file against the note in the posting, and with the exception of those two files, everything was intact. Daniel, thanks for a great product. I really appreciate being able to have the same editro on all the machines that I have access to. For those who, like myself, really need the manual for MicroEmacs 3.9e, note that, finished or not, it can be obtained from the bulletin board listed in the doc files that were posted. It is, however, in MS-DOS .arc format. If you want the thing to print correctly, you must have you printer do exectly 66 lines per page. Doug McDonald

As quoted from <1979@tut.cis.ohio-state.edu> by mdf@tut.cis.ohio-state.edu (Mark D. Freeman): +--------------- | Is it me, or did most of the documentation files, rc files, etc. all | say 3.7 or 3.8 in them? +--------------- It's not you. I almost decided to put off posting until I could get a clarification from Don Lawrence, but the newsgroup "charter" won and I posted it anyway. After all, a few parts of my UNaXcess still say 1.0.0 in them, and I think there's even a 0.4.2 in there somewhere... keeping *all* revision numbers straight can be a pain, they could be buried *anywhere*. -- Brandon S. This might help people in the USA, but with intercontinental phone rates of $2-$3/minute it is *very* expensive to get the manual by uploading, especially because the delays make normal protocols like kermit and xmodem *slow*. -- Ge' Weijers, Informatics dept., Nijmegen University, the Netherlands UUCP: {uunet!,}mcvax!kunivv1!hobbit!ge
