The following sources are available from j.cc.purdue.edu via anonymous FTP; nearly everything is compressed (i.e. has a ".Z" suffix) so don't forget to use the binary mode of FTP when transferring such files. These sources all live in the subdirectory "pub". Block Size Name Description ---- ---------- ------------ 60 compress.shar -- compress/decompress files to save space 120 patch.shar -- Larry Wall's "patch" program; patchlevel 8 384 elm-1.7-beta.tar.Z -- Elm mailer 1.7 beta release 184 crc.tar.Z -- Qplot/plot3d plotting package from Purdue EE 500 maitrd.tar.Z -- locally enhanced maitrd load distribution system 504 news-2.11.13.tar.Z -- News 2.11 distribution with first 13 patches applied 144 nntp.tar.Z -- nntp version 1.4 (remote news) 260 rn-4.3.tar.Z -- The latest release of rn; patchlevel 39 388 microemacs.tar.Z -- Micro Emacs Version 3.9 DIR uupc -- UUPC sources (UUCP for micros) 43 backup.shar -- front end for dump including labelling, scheduling 25 calls.shar -- print functions calling patterns in C source 11 flost.shar -- report lost files to admins to request backup 34 junkmail.shar -- delete mail based on size/age or sender 56 maketd.shar -- transitive dependencies for Makefiles 44 mkcmd.shar -- make template for new commands 12 stat.shar -- read out inode ala stat(2) 60 untamo.shar -- idle terminal daemon 6 yyreduce.shar -- add debugging code to yacc-generated parser 92 ease.tar.Z -- language for writing sendmail config files 19 ease-cf.tar.Z -- *partially* finished ease configuration files Many of these are local programs which have been previously released to Usenet; some of them have had significant improvements made. (Others are still broken. :-) ) This machine also holds the comp.sources.unix archives, in the subdirectory "news/comp/sources/unix" and the amiga archives, in the subdirectories "news/comp/sources/amiga" and "news/comp/binaries/amiga". A catalog of the comp.sources.games archives lives in "news/comp/sources/games/README"; these sources have to be requested by mail (sorry!). Most of the FTP directories have "README" files in them, so please check those first if you encounter difficulties. Also, please don't ask to have these sent to you via UUCP; I simply can't, because we have no UUCP connections whatsoever, and it'd be anti-social of us to start shipping megabytes out through our neighbors. Cheers, Rich Kulawiec, rsk@s.cc.purdue.edu, s.cc.purdue.edu!rsk
