Somebody expressed doubt that gawk works on System V. As distributed, it doesn't, quite, but there is very little wrong with it. There is a function missing, which is mentioned in the README file, and an include or two need to be #ifdef'ed. I have been using it for a couple of weeks. I will send diffs back to the author very soon.
