[comp.sources.d] comp.sources.unix archives available via mail server

wisner@killer.UUCP (Bill Wisner) (04/20/88)

Archives of comp.sources.unix are now available via an automated mail-based
archive server system. To use it, send a message to one of the following
addresses:
	archive-server@killer.UUCP (generic domain)
	..!{ames,att,ihnp4,mit-eddie}!killer!archive-server (UUCP)
	killer!archive-server@ames.arc.nasa.gov (vanilla Internet mailer)

For a general information file, send the line "send index" in the body of
the message. Don't use the Subject line.

Service may be somewhat flaky for a while; I'm still working some of the
kinks out of the system. Overall, though, it's pretty reliable. One caveat:
address parsing remains almost completely untested, so the server may not
be able to get anything back to you. If you experience problems, let me
know.

Be reasonable about how much you access it; I can and will revoke access
if a site starts running up ridiculously huge phone bills for half the
net. Neighbors of killer, of course, have nothing to worry about..
