[comp.sources.d] Archive site gets TB+ modem

mikes@ncoast.UUCP (Mike Squires) (09/02/88)

The comp.sources.unix/mod.sources/comp.sources.misc archive at "sir-alan"
is now complete (vols 1 - current for mod.sources/comp.sources.unix, all
of comp.sources.misc). The archive can be accessed via anonymous uucp
at 814 333 6728 (2400/1200, modem autobauds) or 814 337 0894 (Telbit TB+,
cycling 2400-BREAK-9600 PEP-BREAK-1200).  Volumes 1 - 9 of mod.sources
are also on system "oncoast", at 814 337 3159 (USR HST 9600, cycling
2400-BREAK-HST 9600-BREAK-1200). uucp login on both systems is "pdsrc",
no password; list of files in /usr/spool/pdsrc/all.subjects or all.subjects.Z
All files are compressed, but compress.tar is in /usr/spool/pdsrc.

The system is a Tandy 16B+ with a totalof 180MB (sir-alan) operating under
XENIX 3.2 (3.0 development system). Getting the TB+ to work required
using the generic dial.c and adding two inital "\r"'-sleep(1) combinations
before trying "AT".  The TB+ is not locked to a single comm baud rate;
attempts to do so with both XON/XOFF and CTS/RTS did not work. Transmission
rates between two RS 16B+'s (8MHz CPU's, 1MB, Q2080 drives) ran at 870
bytes/sec using uucp.
