[comp.sources.d] JetRoff bitmaps

bill@carpet.WLK.COM (Bill Kennedy) (10/14/88)

I have not seen a lot of discussion regarding JetRoff, but I brought it
up, paid to register, and would like some input from the rest of the net.

The bitmap graphics appear to work just fine, they clip and rotate just
like they are supposed to. What I have been unable to find is a program
that will generate bitmap graphics that I can intorduce into jetroff.
TFM says that PC Paintbrush is a good way to do it. I have a DOS capability
and a Hercules compatible display adapter, but I don't have a mouse, nor
do I seem to be able to find PC Paintbrush anywhere. Every place I have
inquired (three of them) have said that PC Paintbrush is obsolete and I
should try their latest and greatest frammis on the fortesite.

I have no objection to buying the latest and greatest and I know I will
have to get a mouse and learn to draw with it. What concerns me is that
since my sole purpose for doing this is to draw a couple of things to
chunk into jetroff, what should I get? I'm not posting this to sys.ibm.pc
because I don't want to draw on a pc, I want to draw for jetroff and use
the result in a two page (one sheet, printed both sides, jetroff likes that)
document. Can anyone help with that?

Also, I'd be glad to swap experiences with anyone using JetRoff with Elan's
troff (with which I am well pleased). Thanks in advance,
