Larry, hurry up and post those patches so that those of us saddled with
286 machines can run perl. :-)

I agree!  Perl is a nice replacement for awk, and on many 286 machines,
awk is compiled in the small model making it all but useless, but perl
often works no better if it even compiles.  PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!
