I've looked at the both unshar packages in the comp.sources.unix archives on UUNET. Both of them normally just feed stuff to sh, though it varies how well they deal with the `exit' at the end of an archive when it doesn't end the message. I usually concatenate multi-part archives (from rrn, usually something like "/Fnord part/jsFNORD") into one file, and then try to unshar that without bothering to split it. However, the exit at the end kills the shell... An approximate fix was to change the `if' in the volume 15 version to a `while', but that didn't quite work on real files. I don't have time to fix it myself; does anyone have another version that does more than this?
