Yes we wrote a vt100 and vt220 emulator in Smalltalk-80.
And this works on Suns certainly, as Smalltalk-80 is available there.
All kinds of features are implemented including compose character,
setup screens, flashing and double-height and double wide and
pseudo graphic characters.

Suns don't have a vt100 and certainly no vt220 keyboard so you
cannot use every key you want of course.... But as it is Smalltalk-80
you get everything in sources and you can adapt it to your personal
preferences interactively whenenver you want.

Although some people think Smalltalk-80 were slow we benchmarked it
against a vanilla Sun tools window and wan: app. 16000 baud on a sun-3-60.

The same stuff runs on an Atari Mega ST about 5000 baud.

The author of this emulator is Hans-Martin Mosner (hmm@unido.uucp),
he works for us.

If you want some more information, please let us know.
