There was a piece 'driver.c' missing from a posting of my password checker a while back. Sorry about that - driver.c is nothing more than a simple chunck of C that read from stdin, called checkpasswd() and printed the results. It was hacked together in a few days and tossed onto the net (months ago I might add) in the midst of a raging debate on comp.unix.wizards about password security. Hence the missing and mis-named pieces. A new complete version of this password checker is now available. I have submitted it to the comp.sources.unix moderator for distribution. For those who have FTP access, it can be gotten by anonymous FTP from emx.utexas.edu, (128.83.1.33) in the directory "pub/checkpasswd". I think those who have the old version will find my newer edition more useful. -Clyde Hoover -- Shouter-To-Dead-Parrots @ Univ. of Texas Computation Center; Austin, Texas clyde@emx.utexas.edu; ...!cs.utexas.edu!ut-emx!clyde Tip #268: Don't feel insecure or inferior!
