I've just finished porting compress 4.3 to the Atari ST under Alcyon and Sozobon C using dLibs (it was already ported to Mark Williams C) as well as to Minix-ST. In the process I've found a few bugs and (hopefully) made a couple of minor improvements. The sources do not list the email address(es) or the author(s) and I didn't get much documentation when I got the sources. I'd like the author(s) to contact me so I can send my modifications for inclusion in the next release. As a side issue, I was wondering if the compress algorithm could be written to run with only 64K code + 64K data/bss. I expect it would be slow, but slow is better than not at all if you want to do 16-bit compression.
