I ran Configure over my perl 3.0 kit a few minutes ago, and got stumped by the question, "What is the order of bytes in a long [1234]?" Which end is byte 1, most or least significant? Or is it first in memory, or last? Configure was able to compile the test program, and the 1234 above is the result, but it doesn't mean much to me. Maybe a little more description would be appropriate?
