I've got a fairly sizable Usenet source archive that I am considering making available either by an email server or anonymous UUCP or both. I am interested in hearing from people who are running archives of either type, or who have been email neighbors of sites that have run servers. What sorts of things have been major considerations for archive sites? If I were to run a server, I would guess that the most important potential problem would be the increased email traffic passing through my neighbor sites. For anonymous UUCP, I would consider modem availability to be the most important concern, e.g., if someone started a very long transfer on my currently-only data line. What kinds of problems with security are there? Are there other things that I am missing?
